The City of Boone, Iowa

Commander Sloter is originally from Illinois where he graduated high school in 1980. He attended Illinois State University and graduated in 1985 with bachelor’s degrees in Criminal Justice and Psychology.

Sloter started his law enforcement career in 1985 for the Lakewood, Colorado Police Department where he worked as a patrol agent for 12 years. In 1997 he accepted a position as police officer with the Boone, Iowa Police Department and has since risen to the rank of Administrative Commander. During his 32 years serving the public, he has received specialized training in the deployment and training of police service canines, collection of crime scene forensic evidence, public speaking, as well as other administrative and tactical training. Sloter looks forward to continuing to serve the citizens of Boone and its visitors.
